Why Your Bad Breath Disgusts Other People

Bad Breath can originate from a dental problem, but more often the causes are elsewhere.  What many overlook, is that bad breath creates reactions in the people around us, that are not controllable, because our brain is programmed to avoid dangerous situations and keep the body out of harm. Some of the components in bad breath trigger physical reations in humans, that have been programmed for thousands of years. Bad breath is something one should avoid or cure as quickly as possible!

You see,  bad breath not just a physical predicament, it’s also an incredibly embarrassing social challenge too. In reality, it’s probably one of the MOST awkward problems anyone can have since, when you are afflicted by bad breath, you’re making many people really feel physically very unwell!

When you smell bad breath your brain tells you to move away!

Bad breath, which is also known as halitosis, is full of harmful (and potentially dangerous) chemical products which mix together to produce the stench we recognise as bad breath. However, they are quite pungent by themselves too. Many of the most common “ingredients” found in bad breath usually are…

  • Hydrogen sulfide, which smells like bad eggs;
  • Methyl mercaptan and skatole, that smell like fecal matter;
  • Cadaverine, that smells like corpses;
  • Putrescine, which smells like decaying beef; and
  • Isovaleric acid, that smells like perspiring feet!

Note that these chemical substances are all radiated by things that can cause disease or even an infection. And that’s exactly how the human brain perceives them too. The truth is, for that very reason, the brain has evolved to recognize theses particular ‘dangerous’ odors immediately. When your brain picks up these smells, it goes into ‘survival mode’ straight away, and practically FORCES your body to separate itself and move away from anything it recognizes as the source of threat.

It does that by making you actually recoil (to move away), scrunching the nose upward (to constrict your nasal pathways, stopping any further harmful odours), and by making you gag (to prevent you ingesting anything). If you do breathe in or even swallow too much of these chemicals, you then really feel nauseous, and may even throw up (to remove them from your internal system). Put simply, you are feeling physical disgust!

If you have bad breath, this kind of reaction most likely sounds familiar! Other people turn away… step back… and protect their nose as well as mouth when you’re close by because the ‘contents’ of your breath are literally sickening them! As we genrally tend to be gregarious creatures, human beings like interacting with other people to a very high degree, more so when compared with any other animal on earth. The truth is, this high level of interaction is basically the basis of what it means being human. E

When you suffer from bad breath, it becomes a big problem; as much as  others might like you and might want to interact with you, their mind certainly doesn’t – instead, it actually views you as a DANGEROUS risk to their health and well-being… maybe even to their life!

Study proves, bad breath is worse than anything else you might smell…

.

The reason why bad breath is considered the most unappealing personal characteristic you can have, bar none (not even stale body odor!)

A couple of years ago, the British Dental Association in The United Kingdom requested a public study in which bad breath was ranked as the MOST unattractive attribute any person could possibly have. Bad breath  even beat stale body odor to the top of the listing! And the results were the same for all sexes and age brackets; there was clearly absolutely no variance whatsoever. Everybody was equally repulsed by it!

Think about exactly why that might be so: Even if you have bad breath your self, do you enjoy being near other people with bad breath? You might otherwise like them good enough to try to ignore it… but your mind just will not let you.

This is even more true when it comes to romance: Meeting someone of the opposite sex can be intimidating at the best of moments but, when you bring bad breath into the situation, and consider the brain’s automatic response to it, you might as well just go home before the particular date even begins!

The same dilemma is present in the work-place: Your fellow workers might be way too considerate to say this to your face, but it doesn’t mean they don’t talk about it behind your back. Consider these very ugly remarks by an office-worker about one of his co-workers who had bad breath:

“This dude at work has the worst case of bad breath ever! It’s sooo bad, you would believe he utilized s**t for tooth paste! … As soon as I walk into the office, it just hits you smack in the face … Even worse, when he is speaking, you have to try to slowly but surely retreat and pray he will not notice … or pretend that your nose itches to block the smell …”

Might someone possibly be saying stuff like that about YOU? It’s quite possible… but, even if you have not noticed anything at all like that before, I am just guessing you don’t want to provide anybody the opportunity to say it in the future. Most people really don’t, and that’s why a massive industry has built around “controlling” the problem of bad breath. Actually, the exact numbers involved are amazing: Americans alone spend just about $5 billion year after year to try to fight bad breath! Worldwide, these numbers run into tens of billions!

You can do something against bad breath – How to cure bad breath:

Whilst there are a few very powerful products on the market which deal with the symptoms of bad breath very effectively, they do very little (or nothing) to address the root-cause. The net result of this is that you have to continue using these products, many of which cost up to $100.00 a month, again and again, year after year… eternally!

Yet another problem is that, when you look for a solution on the Internet, you find plenty (and lots) of quite generic (and, to be truthful, useless) details. For example, one of the top internet sites that shows up in Google when you search for solutions to bad breath specifically advises “brushing your teeth and flossing every day”. While that is great for your teeth, it does almost nothing to address the cause of bad breath. It’s also something you ALREADY know you should do anyhow… and so, you ALREADY know it doesn’t get rid of bad breath. In fact, you can have the cleanest teeth on earth, but still have breath that smells like a rubbish bin!

However, even with all these ultra-expensive “solutions” and the gigabytes of worthless generic tips floating about, I now have some good news for you…
